Taofick is significant to the celebration because he is one of the doll creators who created a doll to fill a hole in his country. Taofick was unable to find a beautiful doll at a reasonable price in his home country of Nigeria. His search and a subsequent conversation with his daughter led to him creating the Queens of Africa (QoA) line of dolls. The dolls are meant to be more than play toys, they are meant to help children understand they are beautiful and important.
